This is a full-time REMOTE position

What Will Be Your Purpose

The Senior Manger Competitive Intelligence position is accountable for supporting the achievement of business results through the effective utilization of competitive intelligence and market assessments in enterprise decision making. You will coordinate the collection, analysis, synthesis, and dissemination of competitive intelligence-based insights in order that key stakeholders across the organization have an up-to-date understanding of the market dynamics, threats and opportunities.

You will serve as the primary delivery channel to enterprise business areas for all components of our competitive intelligence practice. This is an Enterprise-wide role with responsibly for competitive intelligence and market assessments across the portfolio of GuideWell subsidiaries – as required. You will be responsible for aligning competitive intelligence resources to support key company priorities.
You will be accountable for developing and maintaining a strong, effective working relationships with enterprise business leaders in order to ensure competitive intelligence assessments meet business needs. You will coordinate and support inter and intra-departmental cross-functional projects in which a competitive intelligence component is required. You will be responsible for delivering empirical-based assessments of the Florida market and tracking competitive activity nationally which could eventually impact the Florida market.
You will be responsible for integrating relevant competitive insights from market research studies into competitive intelligence assessments. You will manage a staff of competitive intelligence professionals and also be responsible providing thought leadership and support to various Strategy/Innovation team initiatives.
You will also manage the competitive intelligence budget and engage in managing the competitive intelligence vendor relationships.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure that the competitive intelligence team maintains a comprehensive understanding of the macro-economic and competitive activity influencing the Florida market. This includes analyzing competitive activity, across both traditional and emerging competitors, and leveraging all the department’s competitive tools to create robust empirical assessments. This includes leveraging NAIC statutory filings, state OIR filings, third party data sources among other tools.

 

  • Examples of this include assessing changes in medical membership/financial performance, new/existing product initiatives, joint ventures/partnerships, shifts in geographic footprint and competitor approaches toward medical management, engagement and network strategy.
    Lead competitive benchmarking projects as required.
    Deliver an annual situation analysis of industry trends and competitive activity for each major line of business in order to support annual business planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate CI contribution to annual cross functional competitiveness process across all key lines of business.
    Lead and coordinate competitive intelligence discussions with key business leaders. Ensures that assessments are shared across the organization and that deliverables are suitable for distribution to senior leaders.
    Monitor emerging payor activity across the U.S. which could eventually impact the Florida marketplace.
    Leverage competitive intelligence toolsets to develop market and competitive assessments outside of Florida -as required.

 

  • Coordinate competitive intelligence contribution to inter and intra-department cross-functional initiatives
  • Establish collaborative business partner relationships including responding to requests for competitive intelligence by key business partners on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Assume responsibility for managing the competitive intelligence budget and being a point of contact with competitive intelligence vendors. Assumes responsibility for becoming the subject matter on the proper use of competitive intelligence tools to the organization and ensures that tools are used properly and in context
  • Manage the development and assessment of the competitive intelligence team including conducting quarterly and annual reviews.

 

What You Must Have

6 years related work experience
Experience Details: Required Management Experience

3 years direct supervisory/management experience

Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience

General Physical Demands

To support your financial wellbeing, we offer competitive pay as well as opportunities for incentive or commission compensation. We also conduct regular annual reviews with pay for performance considerations for base pay increases.

Annualized Salary Range: $102,000 – $165,800

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $102,000 – $127,500

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
